The Mobility Unlimited Challenge was a joint venture between the Toyota Mobility Foundation and Nesta, to find new assistive technologies for people with lower-limb paralysis. It was one of our most complex and sensitive builds.
Given the nature of the challenge, the project partners decided to target WCAG 2.1 AAA levels of accessibility - the highest standard available; far in excess of all but the most essential digital government services. At the same time, the site needed to inspire and inform a generation of innovators.
We worked with them to deliver against this challenge - a monumental achievement that required us to adopt new ways of thinking around design and content, and pushed the chosen CMS (Drupal) to its limits.
We’re incredibly proud of our work, and we have applied the learnings to many projects since, including our own website.
