In partnership with one of England’s most unusual and successful cultural centres, just off the M6 near Penrith, and perhaps the best known children’s author
in the world, we were tasked with coming up with a brand new, child-friendly, budget-conscious interactive take on Roald Dahl’s work.
Exhibition interactives included an NFC-powered sweet factory where visitors could feed ingredients into a machine to create their very own Wonka sweet,
dream jars that capture the visitor’s desires, and a translator for the BFG’s distinctive language that used a Raspberry Pi and colour sensors to great effect.
This was a real passion project for us, and we’re delighted it was such a success. But it also demonstrated the power of creativity over big budget effects and expensive technologies.
